May 23, 1873--Went to Judson's Mill after box covers. Finished all up hauling my four thousand in A.M.  P.M. fixed the lower pasture fence. Clif King came up got his wood saw i filed for him. Pd me .20 Came in foggy at night. Albert and wife and Ester here in evening. Lew went to mill after supper. John went to Franklin to carry Butler.

4,000 box covers.....for what?
