June was spent working as a carpenter in Bar Harbor. Sometimes he stayed overnight but most days he rowed from Lamoine to Bar Harbor, sometimes against the tide, and in the rain. Some commute!!!

June 2 1873--Came to Bar Harbor. Commenced to work for Frank Conners. Worked all day on framing.

June 3--1873 At work for Connors. All day. Was in store in evening. Bot pencil paid .10. Cold day, wind NW .

June 4, 1873--At work on Annie Connors shed all day.

June 5, 1873--At work on Annie Connors in P.M. on barn.

June 6, 1873 At work on Annie Connors barn. Raised it.
